Drinking tea, eating short bread and playing code breakers on your armchair in Houghton. We only met a handful of times, but I will never forget your wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh. RIP Granny Isobel.

Dear Honorary Aunt Isobel, thank you for making us feel like family when we were invited by Al for your South African reunion in 2002. Your bright, welcoming smile, your fascinating anecdotes of family travels, and especially your sense of adventure to willingly taste exotic cocktails will stay in our memories forever. What an inspiring legacy you have shared with your descendants, family and friends. We will raise a glass to you and say that every memory of you begins and ends with a smile.

Thinking of you both, Ali & Gordon, on the passing of your wonderful Mum, Isobel. She was such a character and a lady with a big zest for life; we had many a laugh and lots of chats of lovely memories of Malawi days at the Carson's house over the years. And my husband, being a fellow Scot, also thought she was a super lady. RIP Isobel, you won't be forgotten! love Simone (and on behalf of the Sturgess family) x
